Bird's Nest Anthurium
Also known as Anthurium crassinervium or "colmenero". Native to tropical & subtropical regions of Venezuela, Colombia & the Caribbean. It can slowly grow to enormous proportions! As a houseplant, though, it only reaches about 1m tall, over time. It's leaves are glossy, wide and ruffled.
- Water your Bird's Nest once or twice every week. Increase watering with increased light.
- Thrives in medium to low indirect light. They don't like intense, direct sun!
- Bird's Nest Anthuriums do like moisture in their air for optimal growth. Try placing it in the bathroom every now & then to keep it thriving!
A soil mix made up of compost soil and peat is a perfect mix for promoting healthy growth for the plant. Their roots can be easily damaged by water!
